To conclude the “career and college search” unit of the Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) course, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk seventh-graders got out of the classroom. The students visited the Sage College of Albany campus to take a tour and learn more about the college experience.

“The purpose is to get them thinking about what college and life at college looks like,” RCS Middle School Counselor Stephanie Cook said.

As the group toured campus, they viewed classes in progress and had the opportunity to inquire about college life, asking questions of both students and admissions staff. And one final experience topped off the day.

“They got to do their favorite thing,” FACS teacher Molly Jennes said. “Eat food from the college cafeteria.”
