Using laughter to get their message through, the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports) team turned some heads at their opening assembly. The PBIS team is made up of high school teachers, staff and administrators. The team put themselves in their students’ shoes for a humorous video, where team members took on the role student. The video referenced common excuses for being late or not doing homework, proper dress code, cell phone use in school, and more.
PBIS is introduced to RCS students at the elementary level and continues through high school. The program promotes positive actions and conduct, and rewards students for good behavior.
