As we near the February recess, the RCS District would like to provide recent information from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) regarding travel restrictions due to COVID-19. The district recommends that families follow this guidance as the travel information changes daily, especially as it pertains to areas that require quarantine upon returning to New York state. As a reminder, the travel advisory resource page is available to assist you with understanding how travel is restricted. Click here to read the current guidelines.
The NYSDOH issued updated guidance allowing out-of-state travelers to New York to “test out” of the mandatory 10-day quarantine. This travel guidance is still in effect. To understand its importance, please visit here.
We ask that you continue to remember to follow the appropriate social distancing measures while traveling. As we’ve seen in a number of our neighboring districts, COVID-19 cases continue to rise in many areas. The travel advisory information provided by the New York State Department of Health is an important resource to keep up-to-date on news and updates related to COVID-19. In addition, we are also sharing travel items from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention related to travel requirements during COVID-19. You can access those items here.
We would like for our RCS families to have an enjoyable February recess while following the necessary pre-travel steps to continue to stay healthy and safe.
We hope you find these resources helpful.
