RCS letter to families - COVID-19 Travel Restrictions

Dear RCS Families,

As we prepare for April recess, the district would like to remind you of the current information provided by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) regarding travel advisory information due to COVID-19. As of Thursday, April 1, this guidance will be changing and domestic travelers will no longer be required to quarantine when entering New York state. Here is the latest guidance from New York State on  “What You Need to Know” about travel after April 1, 2021. Regardless of travel updates, New York State and the Center for Disease Control continue to emphasize that we follow all COVID-19 safety protocols during this time, including social distancing, hand hygiene and the wearing of masks.

Important notice: The district continues to urge families to be accurate and honest when filling out the daily health attestation.  As a school community, we have followed detailed procedures established by local, state and national health agencies as it pertains to keeping our district safe.  Accurately reporting health status will continue to ensure a safe environment for in-person instruction. The daily health attestation will be changed to reflect the new travel guidance from New York State.

Here is some additional travel information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has also provided an additional resource for travelers to keep up-to-date on monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, located here.

We hope that you will enjoy the April recess while following the necessary, ongoing COVID safety protocols that will help to ensure the health and safety of all staff and students.
