In late 2018, a group of fifth-graders from Pieter B. Coeymans received a bee-uiful research opportunity. Supported by a grant from Whole Foods’ Whole Kids Foundation, the class gained the opportunity to study the importance of bee hives and how it affects the RCS and global community.
The hive officially arrived in the Spring of 2019, and the group of fifth-graders, along with the assistance of a local beekeeper, began their journey into the world of bees and their impact on the planet. This important research opportunity was initiated by a nutrition and wellness grant and continues the RCS motto of “Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.”
