Join us in Ravena for The Magic Years: A Free Parent Education Workshop Series

Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County presents The Magic Years, a series of three parenting education workshops for parents/caregivers of children from birth to age 4.

The first workshop, Handling Stress & Understanding Child Development, on Wednesday, June 5 at 7:00 p.m., allows parents/caregivers to discuss stress management strategies in a supportive environment. Learn how stress impacts children and how we can help them manage stressors. Understand the stages of child development, and how you can best support and nurture your developing child(ren).

The second workshop, Setting Routines, on Wednesday, June 12th  at 7:00 p.m., explores how routines and consistency in the home can lead to positive behavior outcomes for your children. Understand how to set up (or better manage) routines surrounding bedtime, bathing, family meals, and toilet training.

In the third workshop, Parenting Styles & Discipline Tools, on Wednesday, June 19th  at 7:00 p.m., learn about different parenting styles and how they impact children. Understand the difference between discipline and punishment and how to use natural consequences to teach valuable lessons. Explore the myths of spanking and learn strategies to get your children to listen.

Parents/caregivers may register for all three, or just the workshop(s) that work best for them.

All workshops will be held at the RCS Community Library. Advanced registration is required by contacting the RCS Community Library, 95 Main St., Ravena, at info@rcscommunitylibrary.org or 518-756-2053.

A certificate of completion is provided to participants who attend all three workshops.
