Important information from High School Principal Patierne:
Due to unforeseen complications in coordinating with the capital project construction work on the middle and high school campus, we have decided it is necessary to change the 9th Grade Orientation dates. At the end of the 2017-18 school year, we assigned each incoming 9th grader to one of three summer orientation days.
We will now be hosting all 9th graders at ONE orientation on Wednesday, September 5. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but safety for our students is paramount. The orientation will run from 7:30 -2:02 and transportation and lunch will be provided.
As I said in an earlier letter home, we are working to create a fun-filled day where we get to know our incoming 9th graders, and they get to know us. During the orientation, students will partake in a seminar as we begin giving them the tools they need to be successful in high school and in life, right from the very start. We will work on team-building, discuss how to set goals, and familiarize students with the level of responsibility that will be expected in the high school.
My goal is to get each and every one of our 9th grade students who walk through the doors of our high school in September of 2018, to walk across the stage for graduation in June of 2022!
We are requiring all 9th graders to attend the orientation on September 5. If a student absolutely cannot make the orientation, please contact Ms. LaFave, our high school secretary, at 518-756-5200 ext. 2003. We believe it is imperative for each student’s success to receive this important training and we are so excited to meet each of our new students, get to know them, and help them achieve all of their goals.
More information will come home regarding school bus pick-up details for the day. I look forward to seeing our new students! Have a safe and fun summer vacation.
