COVID-19/Coronavirus Updates & Resources

For updated information from the school district, including important notices, reentry efforts, learning resources, food distribution plans, child care resources and more, please visit the COVID-19/Reentry page.

Innappropriate social media content

Two social media posts were brought to our attention late last night. The posts featured fictional, violent videos that were created by four RCS students. There were no references to RCS, specific people, locations, or scenarios that promised violence against RCS. However, the troubling content and behaviors displayed in the posts were sufficient to warrant a full investigation by the district and local authorities.

Please take a moment with your child to discuss appropriate social media use and consequences for inappropriate content. This is a lesson that we will continue to reinforce with our students. We also ask that students and families continue to be vigilant and say something if they see or hear something that concerns them. If you or your child are in need of assistance, please reach out to your building principal. If after school hours, you may send an email or send a direct, personal message through the RCS Facebook page.
