To celebrate Heart Health Month, middle school physical education teachers Megan McClave and Kevin Reinisch challenged they sixth grade PE students to do physical activity with their families for an entire month. Each family received a calendar of activities, exercises such as squats, plank, burpees, jumping jacks and lunges. Parents/guardians signed the days the family participated and included what outdoor activity they did on those days.
When they were done with the month they had to write about their experiences including who participated with them and any challenges and triumphs they encountered.
“The feedback was awesome and a great way to get the whole family moving,” McClave said.
