2021 Open House Information & Links

All RCS buildings will be hosting virtual open house events this year. This will allow families to connect with all of their student’s teachers while keeping everyone safe. You will be able to access the links to each open house here. If you have any questions please reach out to your child’s teacher or the main office.

Middle School - September 30, 2021

Welcome to the RCS Middle School Virtual Open House!

The event is now open and will be available for parents and students to view for a couple of weeks. To access the link to the virtual open house, click here. Families are encouraged to participate in this event together, as there is a lot of important information to be shared.

You will need your child’s schedule so you know who their teacher is and which period they have that teacher. This can be accessed through the Parent Portal if needed.

You click on the unique link for each class and a template will appear with information from the teacher, along with a link to a video from that teacher. Ms. Capece & Mr. Adamek, along with other faculty members will also have a message for families located at the top of the open house. Again, please be sure to view each message as we are sharing important information for the success of every child.

Here is how the process works: If your child has Mr. Dinzey for Spanish 1 period 2, you would find his name along the left column, go over to period 2 and click on the blue link for his information. You do that for each of your student's classes along with the messages at the top. If you are having trouble accessing any of the information in the open house, please reach out to the teacher. As a reminder, you can search this document by simultaneously clicking the “Control” (Ctrl) button and “f” on your keyboard. Families will also have access to a Feedback Form, located at the top of the open house sheet, where they can select a teacher to provide feedback to or request to speak with them at a later date. You can also send them an email directly, their email is located on their template or you can access the middle school staff here

If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to Ms. Capece or Mr. Adamek.

As a reminder, all participants are asked to mute themselves when not speaking to the group (button on the bottom of your screen).  Also, there is a “raise hand” feature at the bottom of your screen if you have a question or would like to speak to the teacher.  As a reminder, you will have to unmute yourself to be heard.

During the live google meets with teachers, they will be focusing on:

  • Classroom procedures and expectations

  • Academic content and outcomes for students

  • Processes for measuring and reporting student progress

We encourage families to ask questions and enter into a dialogue about the topics above. This time during the open house will not be focused on:

  • Individual student needs or concerns

  • State or local governmental COVID-19 mandates

Individual student needs or concerns may be addressed with the teacher through a phone call or email.  Questions or concerns about governmental health mandates may be directed to Mr. Jones.

Families will also have access to a feedback form at the end of the presentation for families to share their thoughts regarding their experience visiting this year's virtual Open House at Pieter B.
