Leading the charge, Pieter B. teachers don shark hats as they dance to “Baby Shark.”

Taking a journey under the sea through the One School, One Book program, Pieter B. Coeymans students spent more than two weeks reading Shark School: Fishin’ Impossible by Davy Ocean. The One School, One Book is a program designed to bring the school community together through reading. Every student in the school reads the same book, at the same time. Various activities such as trivia, scavenger hunts and assemblies allow students to demonstrate their understanding of the text. This allows students to collaborate together, discussing the book as they read along.

Pieter B. students and families also participated in an annual Literacy Night which promotes reading at all levels.
