RCS District outreach on positive COVID-19 cases

For the 2020-21 school year, the RCS District has developed a communication process to keep our community informed of a positive COVID-19 case being identified in our district. Following guidelines provided by the New York State Department of Health, we will outline a specific process related to positive cases and how that information will be shared within the district.

As standard protocol, the district will strictly follow the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws during this process. These guidelines restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

The following measures will be followed in the event of a positive test being disclosed in the district:

Please note, it is the role of the Albany County Department of Health to contact individuals who were potentially exposed and should be tested.
