RCS robotics team finishes strong at regional competition

A team of four Ravena-Coeyamans-Selkirk students headed to PACE University to participate in the First Tech Challenge (FTC) regional tournament on Feb. 10. Tim Mantor, Will Robertson, Earl Thomasson and Gavin Trosclair competed against 24 other teams and finished in fifth place overall, winning 4 out of 5 matches during the day.

robot built by students“All four students did an amazing job at problem solving, communicating and working together as a team to have a successful day at the regional competition,” Jared Bevington said. He, along with Kathryn Rossi, coach the RCS FTC team.

Bevington says they are all looking forward to building on the progress of this rookie year with an ultimate goal to attend the FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP to compete with teams from around the world.
