  • Develop and provide the school as a resource for families and the community
  • Advocate for the needs and priorities of students, families and the community
  • Appraise and establish systems that support students’ social-emotional learning
  • Contribute to achieving the vision, fulfilling the mission and promoting the core values of the school
  • Build and sustain mutually beneficial partnerships with both public and private sectors to promote school improvement and student learning
  • Assess and develop the capacity of staff to ensure instructional practice that is intellectually challenging and authentic to student experiences
  • Administer systems for fair and equitable management of conflict among students, faculty and staff, leaders, families and community
  • Encourage faculty-initiated improvement of programs and practices, taking the time to value and encourage staff members’ professional expertise
