Didn’t you hear? It’s robotics season at RCS! The RCS district is proud to recognize Team 14281 who are currently hard at work designing, testing and beginning preparation for the ‘First Tech Challenge’ robotic competition this month. The team, compiled of 13 RCS students ranging from grades 8 through 12, are gearing up for a competition scheduled for Saturday, January 18 . The team will compete against area club programs from across our region in the AAG Silipigno Gymnasium on The Albany Academies campus.
“This club program allows our students to participate and create a unique robot that will function through coding and construction,” said RCS MS Technology Instructor Jared Bevington. “It’s a unique program and provides RCS students with the tools to develop engineering, mathematics and technical skills to achieve a common goal. We have a great group of students who are competing on behalf of RCS and they are gaining the skill sets for future academic and employment opportunities.”
This year, the team is made up of four members from last year in addition to 12 rookies. The RCS district Team 14281 have been mentored by RCS MS Technology Instructor Jared Bevington and Kathryn Rossi. Both will accompany the team to the First Tech Challenge on January 18.
