It’s not every day you get to fly through space, but the MiSci Museum in Schenectady gave Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk eighth-graders that chance with The Challenger Mission: Rendezvous with a Comet exhibit. Students suited up for their simulated space mission focused on teamwork and collaboration using scientific decision making, scientific problem solving and scientific communication.

Students were challenged with problems throughout the mission that required excellent communication and teamwork between the space station and mission control.

RCS science teacher Jennifer Fisk-Jaskolka says the experience was so effective that they will be taking another 34 students later this month.
