Ten musicians chosen for coveted positions in Melodies of Christmas Chorale

Chosen from a large pool of candidates from around the area, ten Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School students will perform in this year’s Empire State Youth Orchestra Melodies of Christmas Chorale.  They will perform along with the Empire State Youth Orchestra at Proctors Theatre, Dec. 14 – 17th in support of Albany Medical Center’s Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders. Since the inception of the annual Melodies of Christmas concerts, millions of dollars have been raised.

The ten students from RCS were selected in early fall and are already rehearsing to prepare for the upcoming performances. These students are:

Mackenzie Jones
Katrina Morrow
Cameron Shackelton
Kevin Thorne
Peyton VanDerHeyden

The program will also air on CBS 6 at various times on Dec. 24 and 25.
