2022-23 Board of Education Candidates

On May 17, voters in the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District will elect three board members to fill three vacancies (each a three-year term). Candidates must meet all of the other requirements to run for the Board. Learn more about the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Board of Education here.

Correction: Board of Education Candidates are listed on the ballot in order based on a random selection process as dictated by law. They are listed in the order in which they were drawn. Candidates will appear on the ballot in the following order Tracy Klein, Michael Deyo, Jacqueline Kalney, Edward Bedinotti, Yvonne Shackelton & Jennifer Molino.

2022-23 RCS Board Profiles

Tracy Klein

Tracy Klein

Ms. Klein is finishing up her 1st term as a Board Member. An RCS graduate with a Bachelor's in Business Management from St. John Fisher College, Klein has worked at the  Department of Labor for almost 30 years, currently as a Program Manager/Business Analyst.

She is a former Pieter B. PTO member, and RCS MS PTSO member. She has also served as a Board Member for HVLL and served as a Board Member for Ravena Youth Basketball League. 

Michael Deyo

Michael Deyo

Mr. Deyo and his wife Amanda currently reside in Selkirk with their three children who attend RCS, Madison, Emma, and Lily. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economic Crime Investigation from Utica College, as well as a Juris Doctor Degree from Albany Law School. 

He currently works as a Deputy Counsel for the New York State Police and is responsible for providing legal advice on a broad range of operational and policy issues. He is also a soccer coach for the RCS Soccer Club.

Jacqueline Kalney

Jackie Kalney

Ms. Kalney and her husband, Russell, reside in Coeymans with their 2 children who attend RCS, Gabe, and Oliver. A graduate of Coxsackie-Athens, she has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Siena College. Ms. Kalney currently works as a Human Resources Specialist 2 for the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services and the Office of Victim Services.

She has been a class mom for multiple years, including for the Kindergarten and 3rd-grade remote classrooms last year. She is currently working with the district to support the little free libraries and coordinated the collection of additional school supplies in the fall of 2021.

Edward Bedinotti

Edward Bedinotti

Mr. Bedinotti and his wife, Lisa, live in Selkirk and have two children who are students of the district, Grace, and Ryan. He is currently the President and Chief Appraiser at Bedinotti Associates, Inc. and holds an Associate of Science Degree from Hudson Valley Community College, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Literature and Rhetoric from SUNY Binghamton. He also holds Senior Appraiser Designation from the American Society of Appraisers. 

He has been active with the RCS Soccer Club as a Board Member, and as a coach for many years. Additionally, he served on various committees of The New York State Association of Realtors.  

Yvonne Shackelton

Yvonne Shackelton

Ms. Shackelton graduated from Coxsackie-Athens and attended Columbia-Greene Community College and The College of St. Rose with coursework in accounting. She currently lives in Ravena with her husband, Geoff. Their two children, Cameron and Ian, are RCS graduates. She works as a reporting manager for United Health Care. 

Currently serving her first term on the RCS BOE, she has also served on several committees within the district, including the District Reopening Committee, the District Communications Committee, and the District Curriculum and Instruction Committee. She volunteered with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for over two decades and currently volunteers as secretary for the Coeymans Democratic Committee. She also volunteered for community hunger-prevented outreach programs, such as local food pantries and Kindness for Kids.

Jennifer Molino

Jennifer Molino

Ms. Molino resides in Selkirk with her husband Brian and their two children who attend RCS, Kirsten, and Evan. A Bethlehem Central graduate, she holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Education from SUNY New Paltz. She currently works as a Special Education preschool teacher with Capital District Beginnings. 

She was the President of the AWB PTA for two years and is completing her second year as secretary. She is also an active member of the MS PTSO, as well as the District Communications Committee. Ms. Molino teaches Sunday School for 4th and 5th students at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she is an active member.
