The Fall 2023 Season has come to a close, and with 305 student-athletes participating in Fall sports, they always kept it exciting and gave it their all from practice to competition and beyond.

“I am so proud of all of our student-athletes and coaches after an incredibly busy fall season,” said the Director of Athletics, Physical Education, Health & Wellness, Ms. Murphy. “Our RCS teams worked incredibly hard each day and should be very proud of their accomplishments.”

A huge thank you goes to the coaches, parents, caregivers, staff, chaperones, transportation team, and most notably, our student-athletes for an unforgettable season! Each of you plays an important role in supporting our athletic program, and it is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to all of our student-athletes and coaches on a successful fall season! They left everything on the field, court, and pool, representing RCS with pride and honor. Here is a wrap-up of each sport:

They had a very young team of 11 players with many brand new golfers and four middle school student-athletes on the roster. Varsity Golf is growing the team and our program each year. The team was led by 8th grader Ryan Harris as our number one player for the year with a scoring average of 48. We had two seniors, Tyler Carrk and first-year standout Jack Mullin. Girls Swimming & Diving:

Fall 2023:

The Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Team had a very busy and fulfilling season! Despite being a tiny team of six, they were very competitive in our section. They were undefeated for the first half of the season, even against teams that were double our size or teams that we hadn't been able to beat in several years. They competed at Colonial Council Championships on October 21st and took 3rd place out of 7 teams. Also, throughout the season, the team hosted a food drive in which all proceeds went to the local food bank at the First Reformed Church of Bethlehem. At Section 2 Championships, November 3-4, our team broke the school record for the 200 Freestyle Relay (Ana Ball, Makenna Deitz, Clarissa Ball, and Katherine Burch took the record from 1:46.93 down to 1:45.90)! We also had 10 different events where our team scored a time in the top 8 for all of Section 2. It was a great season that ended with a winning record.

The team is also an NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete team, meaning at least 75% of the team roster had an average of 90 or above!

Girls Volleyball:

Fall 2023:

The Girls Varsity Volleyball team was led by seniors, Kylie Whalen and Chizoba Uba. A few season highlights include the away match at LaSalle - the team was behind in the set and fought their way back to win game five 15-1. Other exciting matches in the later half of the season were the home wins against both LaSalle and Cobleskill. We had previously lost to Cobleskill and ended up taking the home set in 4 exciting sets.

The team ran into a few injuries this year that forced the girls to adapt and be flexible in their roles on the court, and they all stepped up. The team has a lot of potential and we're excited to watch them all grow!

The team is also an NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete team, meaning at least 75% of the team roster had an average of 90 or above!
