Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School will be initiating an emergency early dismissal at 1 pm today, Tuesday, May 13. There was an issue that caused the fire alarm to go off and sprinklers to activate in a portion of the building. Cleanup will require some time, and areas of the building cannot be used until this is completed.
We ask that parents please be patient if they are planning to pick up their child from school today. Parents are welcome to begin pick up at 12:45, in the normal location at the playground end of the building.
We do not anticipate any issues reopening as planned tomorrow, Wednesday, May 14, but will notify families this evening if the issue persists.
