RCS Middle School proudly inducted 35 students into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) on Tuesday, May 13, during a ceremony held in the middle school gymnasium. The new inductees, comprising both seventh and eighth graders, were presented with membership cards and honored for exemplifying the five pillars of NJHS: Scholarship, Character, Citizenship, Leadership, and Service.
As part of the selection process, middle school faculty and staff completed a comprehensive evaluation of each nominated student. To be eligible, students must maintain a cumulative weighted GPA of 90% or higher and demonstrate a strong attendance record. On the day of the ceremony, students were formally welcomed into the NJHS through a small, celebratory tradition known as “tapping,” led by current High School NHS members.
“We are pleased to see our students continually recognized for the great work and progress they have made in the classroom,” said Middle School Principal Ms. Denise Capece. “As with every student, the possibilities are endless when it comes to connecting with your curriculum, engaging with teachers, and tapping into your potential. Our recent NJHS inductees should be proud of this recognition, as it highlights the hard work and dedication they’ve shown throughout middle school. Congratulations to you all!”
