During the week of October 5–9, families joined students for Family P.E. Week, a districtwide celebration of physical activity, health, and wellness.

Physical education helps students develop essential motor skills, strengthen social skills, and build character traits such as teamwork, resilience, and respect. Family P.E. Week gave families the opportunity to put these skills into action through fun, engaging activities alongside their students.

The response across the district was incredible! A.W. Becker Elementary School welcomed more than 200 family members, Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School saw more than 160 family members attend classes in a single day, and RCS Middle School welcomed 120 moms, dads, older siblings, and grandparents.

The enthusiasm was evident at Pieter B. Coeymans, where one parent was overheard telling others during a class transition, “Hope you’re ready to run! This class is no joke—you get a real workout!”

From friendly competition to cheering each other on, families embraced the opportunity to get moving together and create lasting memories.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and helped make Family P.E. Week a success. Your participation strengthens our school community and reinforces the importance of healthy, active lifestyles.
