The RCS High School Music Department kicked off the 2026–2027 school year with its Fall Concert on Thursday, October 22, featuring performances by the High School Chorus and High School Band. With just five weeks to prepare, these talented student musicians delivered an impressive program that showcased their hard work and musical talents.
The evening opened with the High School Chorus performing a four-song set, including “Rainbow Connection” from The Muppet Movie. The performance featured soloists Chloe de Oliveira and Olivia Storms, accompanied by Caroline Gleason on guitar.
A special highlight of the evening was the induction of 20 new members into the Tri-M Music Honor Society. This honor recognizes students who demonstrate a strong commitment to music, music education, and community service. Senior members of the RCS Tri-M chapter led the ceremony and warmly welcomed the newest inductees into the organization.
The concert concluded with an energetic performance by the High School Band, which presented four pieces, including a crowd-pleasing arrangement of “Highlights From The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” composed by Howard Shore and arranged by Ralph Ford. The selection featured Piper Weddell on clarinet, Katarina deOlde and Jamie Mantor on flute, and Silas DuBois on trumpet.
Congratulations to all our talented student musicians on their wonderful performances, and a special welcome to our newest Tri-M Music Honor Society members!
