The New York State Education Department has announced that the Regents exams have been canceled for January 2021. The June and August Regents exams are still currently scheduled. The State Education Department has prepared a couple of documents that more fully explain this cancellation in response to the ongoing impact of the COVID–19 pandemic and have also included a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document. These documents address concerns over graduation requirements that may be modified due to this cancellation.
RCS will continue to provide quality instruction, conduct progress monitoring, and offer intervention for students who are not yet meeting New York State learning standards. Please be aware that students in 8th through 12th grade will participate in mid-term exams in January to assess learning. If you have concerns regarding your child’s progress, please contact their teacher to discuss possible support options.
