Last week, RCS junior Katherine Pagnotta and RCS High School Art Instructor Ms. Wallace were invited to participate in a virtual reception related to the 2021 Congressional Art Competition. As part of that virtual event, both Ms. Pagnotta and Ms. Wallace were joined by Congressman Paul Tonko, Curator of the Arts Center of the Capitol Region Belinda Colón and five other students and their respective art teachers.

The students and teachers represented the winning artwork and honorable mentions from the 20th Congressional District. Each student received a yearlong student membership to the Arts Center of the Capitol Region. In addition, Congressman Tonko took time to speak with each student individually. He inquired about their work, inspiration, and plans for the future. The event provided an important forum to celebrate the achievements of these hardworking and talented students.
