Middle School Physical Education Students of the Month - March 2022

Each month the Physical Education Department at the RCS Middle School will be recognizing individual students for the hard work they demonstrated in class during the entire month. Students were nominated by Physical Education Teachers Mr. James Henry, Ms. Jasmine Powell, and Ms. Anna Davies.

A big congratulations to the Physical Education Students of the Month for March: Paige Castagna (Grade 6), Shyloh Episale (Grade 6), Lauren Gimondo (Grade 7), Jocelynn Slingerland (Grade 7), Autumn Lischak (Grade 8), and Bradley Lawson (Grade 8)!

Here is a brief description of each student’s contributions to their class:

Paige Castagna: Paige does an outstanding job during Physical Education class.  During the entire month of March, she has displayed sportsmanship and leadership skills in every class activity.  Her leadership skills are evident in always following directions and looking to help others.  In addition,  Paige is always willing to help out by picking up equipment at the end of each lesson or during the lesson when needed. Congratulations on receiving Physical Education Student of the Month, and great job on receiving this award! 

Shyloh Episale: Shyloh always does an amazing job during Physical Education class. She always gives her best effort during every class activity.  In addition, Shyloh has had a positive influence on the class as a whole through her respect towards all classmates, positive attitude, and following the directions given during class time.  Shyloh always comes into class on time, prepared and ready to learn. Congratulations on receiving Physical Education Student of the Month, and great job on receiving this award! 

Lauren Gimondo: Lauren always demonstrates great enthusiasm and effort skills during every PE class, and the energy level that she brings to class is outstanding. Additionally, she always demonstrates great leadership skills during class warm-ups, class activities, and class games. Lauren has created an environment that is exciting and challenging. She sets an excellent example to her classmates on being respectful to others, following directions, and coming to class prepared. Her sportsmanship, communication, and leadership skills are shown during every class activity. Congratulations on receiving Physical Education Student of the Month, and great job on receiving this award! 

Jocelynn Slingerland:  Jocelynn is always kind, respectful, caring, and helpful to all other students in her class. Jocelynn always demonstrates great enthusiasm and effort skills during every PE class, and the energy level that she brings to class is outstanding. She demonstrates leadership, teamwork, communication, and respect during every PE Class. She does a phenomenal job helping pick up and put away equipment at the end of class. Congratulations on receiving Physical Education Student of the Month, and great job on receiving this award! 

Autumn Lischak: Autumn has gone above and beyond in Physical Education for the month of March. The effort she puts in is contagious; she has helped encourage students to participate. Autumn has a lot of coaching qualities that she brings to the classroom. She is able to provide her classmates with positive feedback to help them improve on whatever skill we are working on. She can see why someone is not performing a skill effectively and can help them fix it. Her qualities have motivated competition and fair play in the classroom. Autumn, congratulations on receiving Physical Education Student of the Month. Keep up the great work!

Bradley Lawson: Bradley knows how to make PE more fun. He is always looking forward to participating in PE, no matter what the activity is. He is attentive during instruction and makes sure he asks questions when he may not understand something. His questions have become essential in the classroom because they are usually questions other students have. At the end of class Bradley stays a few extra minutes to help clean up. He will even attempt to motivate other classmates to help. Bradley stays on top of all google classroom work, which helps his classmates succeed physically and cognitively in the PE setting.
