Budget Vote Details:

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, residents of the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District will vote on a proposed $56,959,448 budget for the 2025–26 school year.

Following several months of careful review of academic programs, emerging opportunities, and district-wide priorities, the RCS Board of Education unanimously adopted the proposed budget at their April 9, 2025, meeting. The plan reflects a spending increase of $2,381,109, or 4.36%, and would result in an estimated tax rate increase of 3.56%. This increase remains within the district’s calculated tax cap, requiring a simple majority for approval (50% plus one vote).

The proposed budget supports RCS’s commitment to offering a broad and inclusive educational experience, preparing students for a dynamic and evolving world. It also includes the addition of a second School Resource Officer to support after-school safety and event coverage across campuses. This investment, along with additional security enhancements outlined in the newsletter, strengthens the district’s efforts to provide a safe, welcoming environment for all students, staff, and visitors.
