On Monday, May 12th, 16 students from A.W. Becker and Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary Schools were honored at the Sandra G. Morley Capital Zone Elementary Student Leadership Awards. The ceremony took place at Hudson Valley Community College's McDonough Sports Complex and included over 600 elementary students from across the Capital Region.
The New York State Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (NYSAHPERD) has presented student leadership awards for the past 40 years. These awards recognize outstanding leadership and excellence in Physical Education, highlighting students who have excelled in fitness, sportsmanship, citizenship, and leadership. The nominated students were put forward by their teachers: Megan McClave, Diane Conover, John Conte, and Brandon Herwick.
