This school year, the 3rd grade students at A.W. Becker Elementary School have been exploring the wonders of the rainforest, and on Monday, May 19th, they brought their learning to life in a performance titled The Amazing Amazon Adventure.
This original production showcased not only the students’ knowledge of rainforest ecosystems, but also their creativity, teamwork, and stage presence. The adventure began with a lively performance of A Rumpus in the Rainforest, setting the stage for a journey deep into the heart of the Amazon.
The story followed a curious tree frog with a big dream: to reach the top of the rainforest canopy and finally see the sun. Along the way, the frog journeyed through each layer of the rainforest, starting at the forest floor, moving through the understory, and ultimately reaching the canopy.
At every stage, the frog met new animal friends, each portrayed by students. From capybaras and armadillos to capuchin monkeys, blue morpho butterflies, sloths, and toucans, the rainforest came alive with color, sound, and personality. Each animal introduced fun facts about its species, making the performance as educational as it was entertaining.
The play ended on a high note with a final rousing rendition of A Rumpus in the Rainforest.
This creative production was a wonderful celebration of learning mixed with the arts. Congratulations to the third graders and their teachers for an unforgettable journey into the Amazon!
