Fifth-grade students from A.W. Becker Elementary School visited the construction site of the future Headquarters Selkirk Fire Station on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, for a hands-on learning experience that connected the classroom with real-world learning. During the visit, students gathered in the construction trailer to review 3D renderings of the new firehouse alongside the project’s architect, Fire Chief, and Fire Commissioner.
The visit offered students a unique glimpse into the planning and teamwork behind a major community project, and perhaps sparked interest in future careers in engineering, trades, or public service.
