AWB Class at beginning of Apple Run

This week, in conjunction with Bring your Family to P.E. Week, A.W. Becker Elementary hosted its Apple Runs! These dual events provide families an opportunity to experience an AWB P.E. class, participate in a run in the backfield, and at the completion of their run, get to enjoy a delicious and nutritious apple.

The Apple Run, started by AWB P.E. teacher Cheryl Morenz and dedicated to the late AWB staff member Natalie Krause, is a reminder of how important it is to work on living a healthy lifestyle and supports the district's value of participation and community. Each year, students love the opportunity to spend time with their peers and enjoy the beautiful fall weather while being cheered on by their teachers and families.

This year, thanks to the generous donations of the AWB Parent-Teacher Association, Indian Ladder Farms, and Farmer Jons, all AWB students got to partake in TWO apple runs! These organizations secured the apples and decorations needed for a successful Apple Run.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our community!” said A.W. Becker Principal Deb Neubart. “The students and staff had a wonderful time. It is a great opportunity that highlights how fun staying active can be!”

Twice the fun, twice the opportunity for our students, staff, and their families to participate in this fan-favorite event! Thank you to everyone who supported the Apple Runs, including the wonderful AWB P.E. Department who put it together, Ms. McClave, and Mr. Herwick!
