2026-27 Budget Vote Results

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District residents approve the proposed $58,224,892 budget for the 2026–27 school year with a 70% approval, or 407 yes votes to 168 no votes.

The approved budget reflects a spending increase of $1,265,444, or 2.17%, and results in an estimated tax rate increase of 1.14%. This increase remains below the district’s tax cap and, therefore, required only a simple majority (50% plus one) to pass.

Three candidates were running for three seats on the school board. Voters elected Michael Coyne to the board with 471 votes, Jackie Kalney with 477 votes, and David Kramer with 462 votes.

Three propositions also appeared on the ballot. Voters approved an estimated $16.4 million Capital Improvement Project focused on core infrastructure improvements and classroom cooling enhancements. Voters also approved the purchase of buses for the district. Final vote results were as follows: Proposition 1 passed 388 to 182, Proposition 2 passed 400 to 167, and the Bus Purchase Proposition passed 420 to 156.

The district thanks all residents who participated in this year’s vote. For more information about the approved budget and capital project, visit the district website here.

The Board of Education will make a motion to approve the vote results at its next meeting, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 6 p.m., in the RCS High School Library. Learn more about the upcoming meeting here.
