Four RCS students signed commitments to their post-graduation career paths today during the annual Capital Region BOCES National Signing Day.
More than 70 students from across the Capital Region who attend BOCES programs were celebrated at the Career and Technical Education Center – Albany Campus for committing to careers in their technical fields.
The Capital Region BOCES National Signing Day event mirrors the NCAA’s National Signing Day for student-athletes committing to play sports in college. The event is designed to honor students entering technical fields and celebrate the dignity of work.
Businesses and organizations representing skilled trades, automotive industries, cosmetology, unions, and more came together to help continue bridging the gap between education and the workforce.
Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical Education Director Jeff Palmer said, “These students being celebrated are already making a difference in their communities and the greater world by putting their skills to work and helping build the local, state, and national workforce during a time when workers in the skilled trades are desperately needed.”
We congratulate the following RCS students who participated in today’s signing event:
Aryn Cinque — Plumbing Technology, UA Local 7 Plumbers and Steamfitters Apprenticeship/Postler & Jaeckle Corp.
Anthony Datri — Automotive Trades Technology, Finke Equipment
Hunter Goss — Manufacturing and Machining Technology, Greno Industries
Preston Hoffman — Medium Heavy Duty Truck Repair, TCI of NY, LLC
