RCS High School students participate in 2022 Congressional Art Show

On Friday, May 6, three RCS High School art students took part in the 2022 Congressional Art Show reception at the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy. The yearly event, which is hosted by Congressman Paul D. Tonko, featured artwork from 24 student submissions representing nine high schools across New York’s 20th Congressional District. The annual Congressional Art Competition celebrates the artistic achievements of the nation’s high school students.

“The opportunity to showcase art in such an amazing format is incredibly special to our students,” said RCS High School Art Teacher Ms. Wallace. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to allow regional art students to share their respective art work with their colleagues. We are thankful for the opportunity and the experiences it provides art students in our region.”

The following RCS High School students displayed their personal artwork at the event:

Arika Vogel, grade 11
Faith O'Brien, grade 12
Ethan Isacc Danao, grade 10

Every spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent across the United States and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
