On Thursday, September 24, Middle School students participated in a powerful and thought-provoking assembly presented by Stand for the Silent, an organization dedicated to raising awareness about bullying and its impact on young people.

The assembly was part of the Middle School’s ongoing effort to create opportunities for students to openly discuss their emotions, strengthen their communication skills, and develop positive strategies for navigating the social pressures and challenges they may encounter in today’s world.

Through personal stories and real-life experiences, the presentation encouraged students to consider the impact their words and actions can have on others. Students explored the importance of kindness, empathy, inclusion, and having the courage to speak up when they see someone being mistreated.

The presentation also addressed the serious consequences that bullying can have on mental health and well-being. While some of the stories shared were difficult and emotional, they reinforced an important message - students have the ability to make a difference in the lives of those around them.

The assembly also provided an opportunity for students to reflect, ask questions, and think about how they can contribute to a school community where everyone feels seen, supported, and respected.

Teachers, school counselors, social workers, teaching assistants, and administrators were present throughout the presentation to support students and help them process the topics discussed.

The Stand for the Silent Assembly is one part of the Middle School’s continued commitment to supporting students not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. By creating space for honest conversations and helping students develop the skills to navigate difficult situations, the school hopes to empower students to look out for one another and make positive choices in their everyday interactions.
