February 2022  Middle School Physical  Education Students of the Month

Each month the Physical Education Department at the RCS Middle School will be recognizing individual students for the hard work they demonstrated in class during the entire month.

A big congratulations to the Physical Education Students of the Month for February: Haiqa Usmani (grade 6), Sage Stumbaugh (grade 6), Landon Greenwood (grade 6), Joshua Brazee (grade 7), Juliana Coyne (grade 7), Meg Visone (grade 8), and Brandon Babcock (grade 8)!

Students were nominated by Physical Education Teachers Mr. James Henry, Ms. Jasmine Powell, and Ms. Anna Davies. Additionally, recently Senior Nick Abrams has been observing P.E. classes at the Middle School on Mondays and Wednesdays every week. He is going to college to become a Physical Education Teacher. He continually demonstrates leadership skills and is a positive role model for all students at the middle school. 

Here is a brief description of each student’s contributions to their class: 

Haiqa Usmani: Haiqa has done an outstanding job in Physical Education class! She is always looking to help others in the class who may be struggling with a specific task.  In addition, she is always willing to help clean up equipment at the end of class.  Haiqa’s sportsmanship and leadership skills are evident throughout every Physical Education class.  Haiqa, congratulations on receiving “Physical Education Student of the Month” and keep up the great work! 

Sage Stumbaugh: Sage has done an outstanding job in Physical Education Class!  She goes above and beyond all class expectations during every class. Sage always follows the directions and does the right thing, and her willingness to help others is evident in all classes. Her sportsmanship, communication, and leadership skills are shown during every class activity. Sage has been a positive model to the class as a whole. Sage, congratulations on receiving “Physical Education Student of the Month” and keep up the great work! 

Landon Greenwood:  Landon has done an outstanding job in Physical Education Class! During the month of February, he has displayed sportsmanship skills through every class activity. Landon will keep working on a skill or task until he masters it. His hard work and dedication are displayed throughout all Physical Education classes.  Landon has had a positive influence on the class.  Landon, congratulations on receiving “Physical Education Student of the Month” and keep up the great work! 

Joshua Brazee: Joshua demonstrates leadership, teamwork, communication, and respect during every P.E Class. Joshua helps pick up the equipment at the end of class and he always puts in effort during every activity. During the entire month, he went above and beyond all classroom expectations and did an outstanding job. Josh has had a positive impact on the class by demonstrating his sportsmanship skills. Joshua congratulations on receiving “Physical Education Student of the Month” and great job on achieving this award.

Juliana Coyne:  Julianna does an outstanding job in Physical Education class. She displays leadership skills through her enthusiasm for class activities, high levels of participation, and always following the rules. Julianna sets an excellent example to her classmates on being respectful to others, following directions, and coming to class prepared. She demonstrates sportsmanship in every activity and is always respectful to her classmates and teachers.  Julianna congratulations on receiving “Physical Education Student of the Month” and great job on achieving this award.

Meg Visone:  Meg works hard in P.E. to help her team to victory in any competition games that we play. When class starts she is already in our meeting spot ready to get started. Meg likes to play fair and is encouraging to all teammates and opponents. Her physical literacy has rubbed off on other classmates which have opened up the option for modification during activities. She has created an environment that is exciting and challenging. Meg is helping her classmates enjoy P.E. more and more each class which is why she is the February student of the month for 8th grade. 

Brandon Babcock:  Brandon has been the biggest help during the month of February in P.E. After each activity, he helps pick up equipment; he will even stay after class to make sure all equipment gets put away and is accounted for. During instruction, he is attentive which allows him to get individual activities started quickly. His attentiveness helps when he is in groups because he can help any peers that may have missed a piece of instruction. Brandon’s effort and sportsmanship are exceptional which is why he is the February student of the month for 8th grade.
