New Information

NYSSMA CHORAL MAJOR ORGANIZATION FESTIVAL

  • RCS High School is hosting the one-day event; Tuesday, April 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • We will have our 7th/8th Grade Chorus and our HS Chorus performing, as well as ensembles from Guilderland, Amsterdam, Averill Park, and Tamarac.  The time of the festival will be from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Each group will perform in the Auditorium at their scheduled time and there will be teacher and student volunteers to escort each group from place to place.
  • One of 145 NYSSMA festivals throughout New York State. 
  • Membership in NYSSMA®/NAfME signifies a commitment to the profession, excellence in music education, and professional growth. It also represents active participation in the most significant professional force in music education in the State of New York, with approximately 5,000 members and 100,000 students participating.

NATURAL HELPERS BLOOD DRIVE

  • American Red Cross event to be hosted at the RCS High School on Thursday, April 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m..
  • Event will be held inside the Wrestling Gym.
  • Visitors can park at the back of the high school and enter from the rear of the building.
  • Blood and “Power Red” donations will be collected
  • Power Red donations collect the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements and have type A Neg, B Neg, or O blood.

COLLEGE PANEL NIGHT

  • High school sophomores, juniors, and their families can meet representatives from area colleges on Thursday, April 27, from 6 to 7 p.m.
  • Representatives from The College of Saint Rose, SUNY Albany, and Hudson Valley Community College.
  • An opportunity to learn about the college admissions process through local representatives.

2023-24 BUDGET HEARING AT BOE MEETING

  • The Board of Education will host a hearing on the proposed 2023-24 budget at the high school on Wednesday, May 3, at 6 p.m.  This evening will also be an opportunity to meet the Board candidates.
  • A newsletter covering important details on the budget will be mailed out to district residents the following day, Thursday, May 4.
  • ALSO, a presentation of the $2.3M Summer Construction project is scheduled.

SADD MOCK CRASH 

  • SADD Mock Crash with participation from many state and county agencies.
  • Friday, May 12; during periods 8 and 9.
  • Required attendance to buy a prom ticket.
  • Focus will be on the impact of driving distracted (friends and phones) and ability impaired by marijuana, alcohol and drugs.
  • As of now, it is planned for juniors and seniors.

This document was created to help ensure that questions and concerns from our community are addressed in the most efficient and effective manner possible. It outlines who you should contact first for information in a particular area, as well as the next step if your concern is not addressed. Staff contact information can be found on the second page.

RCS Class of 2023 Graduation Information: Last week, we released information regarding the Class of 2023 Graduation on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.
