Wrap-Up of the 21-22 School Year: Thank you, RCS, for an amazing year! It is hard to believe that the 2021-2022 school year has come to a close. We have spent a lot of our time over the past year recuperating, restoring, and altering how we learn, grow and celebrate as a community. It has not been easy on anyone, but the support of our students, staff, families, and community members has made it all possible.
Together we have moved forward for our students and their future. We look forward to even more activities, celebrations, and growth next year as we continue to better the RCS Central School District for our students, staff, and community. Have a safe and healthy summer, RCS! We will see you again soon.
End-of-Year Student Chromebook Collection - Evening Return Date Added: For any students who were not able to return their Chromebooks and chargers during the designated times and locations (please click here for more info), the Help Desk will be holding a drop-off evening at the warehouse on Tuesday, June 28, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
The warehouse is located on HS/MS campus behind the HS Main Gym, near the bus garage. If you cannot make any of these times, please contact the Help Desk at HelpDesk@rcscsd.org to make alternate arrangements.
2022-2023 School Year Information: More information regarding the 22-23 school year will be made available throughout the summer. Please continue to check your email and our website for updates.
District Celebrations & Stories: We highlight different events, accomplishments, and programs that are happening around our school community on our website and Facebook page. You can view some of the recent stories and pictures we have shared in the RCS Weekly Celebrations Newsletter here. This week, it includes information about the Moving Up Ceremonies, Spring Sports, and more!
Search Begins for New RCS Middle School Assistant Principal: With the completion of the 2021-2022 school year, Middle School Assistant Principal, Mr. Chris Adamek, will be departing RCS Middle School. On June 24, the RCS Central School District distributed the job posting to fill the Middle School Assistant Principal position. Interested parties may apply or get more information here.
Summer Resource - Community Food Assistance Programs and Options *Updated*: Local food pantries and food assistance programs can provide additional resources for students and their families during the summer and throughout the year. We have put together a list of community food assistance programs and opportunities, please click here to access it. We made a recent update to include additional resources. To view additional community resources related to healthcare, mental health, clothing, and more, visit the RCS Community Resources Guide online here.
District Plans for the Future of Our Facilities - Please Take Our Survey: The RCS Central School District is in the planning stages for a future construction project that will include important updates to our existing facilities and will address current and future programmatic needs. We have organized a district-wide committee of staff and community members to participate in this important planning, but we need diverse voices from the entire RCS Community to ensure that we appropriately preserve and design our facilities for our current and future students as well as for our community. Please click here for more information and to participate in this ThoughtExchange to contribute your ideas and thoughts surrounding this potential project. The survey will close on Tuesday, June 28, at 6:00 p.m.
RCS Discovery Camp: RCS is excited about our new summer program, the RCS Discovery Camp, for students entering grades 1-8. Invites for the 2022 Summer program have been sent out. The program is designed to support ongoing learning for students who may need additional support following the 21-22 academic year. Students were identified by their teachers to participate in this summer program and will receive explicit interventions in English Language Arts and mathematics. They will also apply those skills through enriching and engaging activities through project-based learning (PBL). To learn more, please click here.
2022-23 Board of Education Meeting Schedule: The Board of Education has approved its meeting schedule for the 2022-23 school year. That schedule may be accessed on our website here.
