The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (RCS) Central School District is offering residents a unique, hands-on opportunity to explore a new career path. On Thursday, December 11, 2025, the district’s Transportation Department will host a School Bus Ride Along event designed to give participants an inside look at what it’s like to drive a school bus.
The event will run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the RCS Transportation facility (behind the High School). Attendees will have the chance to sit behind the wheel and experience driving a school bus under the guidance and supervision of trained RCS staff. The Ride Along aims to help individuals understand the responsibilities and rewards of becoming a school bus driver, no prior experience required.
This event is ideal for those seeking a flexible community-centered position that plays a vital role in supporting students and families. As the need for school bus drivers continues nationwide, RCS hopes this hands-on introduction will encourage more of our community to consider joining the team.
Space for the Ride Along is limited, and interested participants are asked to register by December 8.
