The maple season has come to a sweet end at RCS! 🍁Students at both A.W. Becker and Pieter B. Elementary had the chance to celebrate their hard work by sampling their maple syrup production this week. A huge thank you to the RCS Food Service team for providing the tasty waffles and the kitchen space used to help boil down this year's sap! 🧇

We are excited to share that our RCS Harmonics and Jazz Ensemble performed at the Empire State Plaza this morning as part of the Music in Our Schools Month concert series. It was an honor to represent one of the many Capital Region schools participating in this month’s celebrations!

RCS is proud to announce that five of our Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical Education students showed their in-depth knowledge of the skilled trades at the regional SkillsUSA competition on Wednesday, March 19, in Albany! 🏅Congratulations to the three RCS first-place winners who earned their way to the state SkillsUSA competition in Syracuse next month!

Today, RCS celebrates World Down Syndrome Day! Students, faculty, and staff showed their support by wearing silly socks in blue and yellow. This day reminds us of the importance of inclusion and embracing diversity, values that are at the heart of our mission: Providing a safe and supportive learning environment in which all are valued and challenged to become responsible members of a global society. 💙💛 We are proud to foster a community where everyone is encouraged to be their true selves and thrive together. #WorldDownSyndromeDay

The days are getting warmer, but the nights remain chilly, creating the perfect conditions for maple syrup production! Students at both A.W. Becker and Pieter B. Elementary have been learning about maple sap production, including how to tap trees and collect sap. If you’ve driven past either of our elementary schools recently, you may have noticed the beginning of the sap collection in bright blue bags, which will be transformed into syrup. Last week, several classes took a field trip to Crosstown Maple to learn more about the process of converting maple sap into delicious syrup and discuss the various methods of sap collection.

It's March, and that means reading for a cause at Pieter B. Coeymans and A.W. Becker Elementary is officially here!
Both schools held exciting assemblies to launch a month full of fun challenges, reading adventures, and some incredible books. A.W. Becker is diving into their March Madness Tournament of Books, while Pieter B. Coeymans is celebrating One School, One Book.
Information about these programs has been sent home to families, so now it's time to get reading! 📚

Congratulations to the cast and crew of the High School Drama Club for their performances of Mean Girls, the High School Version which took place March 7 through 9 at the High School! Check out a few photos from the show!

The RCS Central School District would like to recognize the “Top Ten” students of the Class of 2025. These students have earned this honor based on their outstanding academic achievements, as reflected in their grade point averages (GPA) over the past four academic years. We are incredibly proud of these students and wish them continued success as they embark on their post-graduation journeys!

A.W. Becker 5th grader Kevin from Ms. Palas’s class chose a police escort to school as his prize for being one of the top fundraiser earners for the A.W. Becker Boosterthon that took place before February Recess. Thank you to the Bethlehem Police Department for helping Kevin arrive at school in style!

RCS High School held a send off for their two winter athletes heading to states this afternoon! In the photos, RCS Varsity Wrestler Jayden A. walked out of school to cheers as he heads to compete tomorrow at the MVP Arena! Good luck to Jayden and to RCSG swimmer Justin S. who will compete next weekend at Ithaca College. Let’s GO RCS!!

How many baby teeth do we have? (A: 20)
How many times should we brush our teeth a day? ( A: 2, but more is even better!)
Our littlest learners at AWB learned the answers to these questions and participated in fun demonstrations during their assembly with EFROS Orthodontics this morning. The students had a great time discovering the importance of dental hygiene and why it’s so important to take care of our teeth! 🦷✨
