Proposed Code of Conduct Updates for Board Review
Second grade students at Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary are diving into the world of informational writing through animal research projects. As part of the process, students are not only developing their writing skills, but also learning how to thoughtfully respond to one another’s work by offering meaningful compliments and feedback. To support their learning, a volunteer from Five Rivers Environmental Education Center visited with each class to share knowledge about local wildlife. Students had the unique opportunity to see and explore a variety of bones and artifacts, bringing their research and classroom discussions to life. The visit helped students connect their research to real examples and gave them new ideas to strengthen their writing.
